Sun Chemical Expands Pace Platform with SunLit OptiPace

Sun Chemical announced the launch of SunLit OptiPace, its latest iteration of high-performance sheetfed printing inks. This high-strength ink solution is based on the company’s revolutionary 'Pace' technology platform.
The ‘Pace’ range of inks is designed to support optimal productivity on high-speed modern printing machines, especially long perfecting configurations, featuring optimized drying dynamics, extremely low misting, and high consistency, while maintaining strong sustainability credentials.
The latest addition to the Pace family, SunLit OptiPace, builds on the success of ProPace, Sun Chemical’s fastest-growing global sheetfed ink series, and shares the same performance characteristics of the Pace technology platform with the enhancement of higher pigmentation levels resulting in stronger color intensity, better resistance, and lower ink consumption.
Key features include:
- Higher print fidelity allows lower ink setting during the printing process, leading to cleaner tonal clarity
- Improved print quality and lower applied costs: Its low tack grade enables it to perform well on poor quality and low grammage materials, while helping to reduce applied costs by reducing the frequency of blanket washes.
- Faster drying and post-print conversion: Derived from Pace technology, the ink has the ability to reduce water settings by 10-20%, which means SunLit OptiPace dries more rapidly than standard conventional sheetfed inks, supporting rapid post-print conversion and reducing waste and downtime.
SunLit OptiPace is vegetable oil-based, containing up to 80% bio-renewable content and no PTFE wax, which reduces environmental impact and allows customers to advance toward their sustainability goals without compromising productivity and quality.
